This was a business transaction of the familial kind.
After that last visit with Lavender and Daeshim it became clear that for Hunter to be able to keep Daeshim and the Treejus he had to share his own little gremlins. Namely with Lavender.
This visit was part humor because yes, yes he did draw up a contract for Lavender stating that they would share custody of Apollo and Hades when they were born. It was still worded very, very carefully however because he didn’t <i>really</i> want to sign over his offspring. But it would be good for Lavender and it makes Daeshim happy to see her being <i>very</i> fae.
The contract is held in one hand when he knocks on the side door and heads inside to seek the little girl out.
But who he finds getting a glass of water is not who he was looking for.
“Hey…is Lavy home or is she gone with Dae?” Hunter asks Lennon.
To be honest he isn’t sure how Lennon is doing with all of this because he isn’t allowed to be around really. But he knows the trauma that the kidnapping had to of had. He hasn’t seen Lennon even leave the house since then.
“How are you…?”

Lennon frowns again, glancing up at Hunter. “What?”

“Go talk to someone who can help you see your real worth. Someone who knows how to actually help you. You’re so much more than you allow yourself to be…” he sighs, “stop thinking less of yourself and thinking that the only way you can connect to people is with sex. You’re more than just your body and what you can give people. Your mind is fucking beautiful.”
He frowns and runs a hand through his hair, “You’re an artist, Lennon…artists are nothing but passion and imagination…and you need to bring that into your relationship. Daeshim needs the brighter you back. The carefree way you used to be before everything got messed up. The love you have left for me—-focus that on him. And your babies. Okay?”

“I’ll do my best,” Lennon murmurs. And without the weight of loss hanging on him maybe he’ll have a chance.

“…um…did…I mean, was there anything you wanted to say or should I just…?”

“I love you even if how I love isn’t … right,” Lennon says, exhaling heavily.

Hesitating, he gently brushes his hands back through Lennons hair and kisses the top of his head, “I’m sorry,” for not being enough for what you needed.
The process shouldn’t hurt. He doesn’t think. But he stares ahead of himself without seeing what’s really there; he’s picking through the others mind, trying not to pay attention to things that don’t concern him.
Seeking out memories that just contained him are harder than he wants to admit. Maybe he doesn’t want to see them the way Lennon remembers them. It feels like gathering files on a computer and dragging them from one place to another. Rewriting what needs to be re-written and just tucking the special things that can’t be reWritten into a different box.
On the way he grabs those with Baein and slips them away in the same fashion into their own safe place for now.
And it’s funny how it feels like watching a film reel; fast forward, rewind, stop, cut…
In a sense, Lennon is lucky because he’s not having to watch them anymore. Not even a last time.
Baein will be his friend still but the waters won’t be muddy anymore.
The relationship proposal will disappear.
The sex between he and Hunter gets put in the box. The moment the said ‘I love you’ joins all of that as well.
There’s a whimper somewhere and he isn’t sure if it’s Lennon, himself or both.
The way Lennon will see him from now on won’t carry the intensity it had before. He’ll still be important but no where near what he had been once upon a time.
No, the whimpering is coming from him. He’s sure of it.
Please don’t forget that you were more important than you thought you were.
The original plan was to erase it all. Make it as if it had never existed. But he can’t do that. He can’t. So it all gets put into the same fucking box and locked away in Lennons mind. He won’t know it’s there and only Hunter will know how to open it. Not that he will but he would be able to.
Again his hand brushes through Lennons hair and he kisses the top of his head, turning away before Lennon can see the tears that were inevitable. He just hadn’t expected them to be blood. He leaves the contract and just calls over his shoulder, “When Lavy wakes up come over so she can sign the contract okay? Get some sleep.”

But when it's done, he doesn't really remember what just happened, like he'd lost time.
Lennon finds himself too tired to get up to say goodbye and take Hunter to the door. Letting him let himself out. He feels a bit strange and off but maybe he does need a nap...
"Okay we will. See you."
